Have you noticed the FSC logo that is printed on paper products nowadays? Ever wonder what it means? It stands for Forestry Stewardship Council and it’s all about sustainable forests!
As outlined by FSC Canada, “FSC works to help forests protect animal habitat, indigenous peoples’ rights, worker’s rights, and areas of significant environmental or cultural importance.” In response to deforestation, environmental and community leaders came together to form FSC. It is a voluntary program that takes aim at improving forest practices worldwide. The program is based on replenishing the forest for the resources you have taken; replacing the pulp with new plants. The first general assembly was held in Toronto in 1993 and has since grown to over 80 countries around the world where forests are present.
The increase in popularity over the years has made it more accessible for everyday products, along with promotional materials! It’s now easier than ever to switch from your current paper stock to an FSC sheet. Corrugate displays. Hang tags. Gift bags. Packaging. Anything that requires pulp or paper can be manufactured with FSC certification and you’ll know that you have a sustainable product.
We work with vendors and factories that can produce your paper products in this sustainable way. It’s an easy switch at a similar price point, that has a positive local and global impact. For your next paper product, let’s make it FSC certified!
